Dr. Rosalyn Anstine Templeton was born in Coos Bay, Oregon, a small coastal town. Her parents were hard-working, small business owners, and this is where she learned her work ethic. At 13, Rosalyn moved to Gold Beach, Oregon (an even smaller coastal town), so her parents could run the Rogue River Café and Hotel. Professionally, Dr. Anstine Templeton, is an educational consultant, with 29 years of teaching students and teachers how to turn anger into productive behavior. She has studied under Dr. Nicholas J Long, a world-renowned expert in crisis intervention and anger, and earned a graduate degree in social and emotional disorders from American University/ Rose School Program. While a public school teacher, Rosalyn taught students how to handle their anger effectively by developing plans for success. As a faculty member, she has developed specialized degree and training programs, while teaching at Willamette, Bradley, Ferris State, and Marshall Universities. To increase success for students at risk of failure, Rosalyn has presented teacher workshops on anger throughout the US. She has offered workshops for parents wanting help with their angry kids. Rosalyn has conducted research, published its results, and presented numerous papers at national and international conferences, with the desire to show educators and parents better ways to create stress and anger-free learning environments at home and in school. Rosalyn is an emeritus member of the American Education Research Association. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Research and Recognition Project because Rosalyn is passionate about furthering research to successfully treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and it’s related issues like anger. She has earned the Life Space Crisis Intervention certification and has been a Senior Trainer for the LSCI Institute. Rosalyn coauthored How to Talk So Kids Can Learn at Home and in School, with New York Times bestselling and award-winning authors, Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. Rosalyn has returned to her home state of Oregon and relishes the times she gets to spend on the beach. She loves the Oregon Coast. Seaside, is one of her favorite beach towns. She enjoys walking her dog, Charlie, an Australian Silky Terrier, spending time with her three grandchildren (Gavyn, Bryauna, and Annabelle) and reading. Rosalyn has two grown children (Christa and Lee) and lives in Woodburn, Oregon, with her husband Larry.
