My love of reading and writing started at a very young age and, as a teenager, I would often be found with my nose in a book, or reading under the bedclothes with a torch after my father had turned out my bedroom light. After leaving school, in my spare time, I wrote short stories for my own pleasure, but reading was still my passion. In 1987, my first daughter was born and diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This prompted me to start writing "My Rachel", a novel about the struggles of bringing up a daughter with a severe disability. At the beginning of 2015, my writing began in earnest after joining a local writer's group. I had been struggling with the emotions of trying to write about my daughter's life, and through this group found a love of writing fiction. This is also where I met the co-author of "My Rachel", J.M. McKenzie. The group is also currently writing a collaborative novel. As a collective we have also published three anthologies, "Words Don't Come Easy", Words Don't Come Two Easy" and "Words Don't Come Thereby", all of which are available on Amazon. I have completed and thoroughly enjoyed the Writer's Bureau Creative Writing Course. Another novel "The Cutting Edge", is now published and available in Kindle and paperback formats. A short story "Fighting A Battle With Himself" has been written, edited and published and is available on Amazon. This allowed me to experience the joy of publishing my own work. I have also co-written a book drawing on my skills as a medium and reiki master with D.P Adams a book about healing, "The Secrets To Healing With Clear Quartz Crystal," which is available on Amazon.
