Salvatore Farina nació en Sorso (Italia) el 10 de enero de 1846. Estudió derecho en Turín y Pavía antes de emprender su viaje a Milán, ciudad en la que se asentó definitivamente hasta su muerte el 15 de diciembre de 1918. Allí comenzó su brillante carrera periodística y literaria, de la que es fruto este “Amor Vendado” que traemos hoy aquí. Aunque fue en Milán dónde desarrolló la mayor parte de su producción, el mismo Farina considera que los inicios de su carrera literaria deben situarse en el momento en el que cursa la escuela secundaria, en la cual fue apoyado y dirigido por su profesor Fernando Bosio. Su estilo literario, denominado de “humor sentimental”, y que se encuentra tan presente en sus obras, ha sido comparado con el desarrollado por el brillante escritor inglés Charles Dickens.
