Serene Khader is a writer, political philosopher and feminist theorist. She is the author, most recently of Faux Feminism: Why We Fall for White Feminism and How We Can Stop (Beacon 2024). Her work on women of color and transnational feminisms has been featured in the New York Times and ABC News. She is also the author of Decolonizing Universalism: A Transnational Ethic (Oxford 2019) and Adaptive Preferences and Women’s Empowerment (Oxford 2011) and a number of academic articles published in journals such as Signs and Philosophical Studies. She lives in Brooklyn. When she’s not writing, she can be found chasing her small children or lifting heavy weights.
