Dr. Simon Targett is a writer, historian, media consultant and co-author of New World Inc.: The Making of America by England’s Merchant Adventurers. He is founder and director of Thinking Cap Communications, a strategic thought leadership and reputation management consultancy, which is based in London. He helps companies and senior executives develop, publish and promote their brand-defining ideas and insights in all kinds of formats—from blogs to books. He is the collaborative writer on two business books: The $10 Trillion Prize: Captivating The Newly Affluent in China and India and Rocket: Eight Lessons To Secure Infinite Growth. An award-winning journalist, he worked for the Financial Times for twelve years, becoming Associate Editor, and running the website ft.com and the weekday special reports and supplements. He also served as the first global Editor-in-Chief of The Boston Consulting Group. He holds a PhD in history from Cambridge University and has written articles on British history for various publications, including the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography and the Historical Journal.
