Stanice Anderson is an addictions recovery expert, speaker, blogger and author of nonfiction books, including, I SAY A PRAYER FOR ME: One Woman's Life of Faith and Triumph (Warner) and WALKING ON WATER WHEN THE GROUND AIN'T ENUF (co-published with son, Mike Tucker, Jr.). Stanice shares her inspiring story that includes overcoming addiction, low self-esteem, abusive relationships, as well as her journey forward with faith and confidence to realize her dreams. As a blogger on The Huffington Post, she writes about recovery and faith in her signature storytelling style and strong, yet vulnerable voice that transports readers to an emotional place where tears, laughter, and hope collide. While working at USA Today, Stanice wrote and emailed her real life-stories. It garnered a large following, a literary agent, and book deal with Warner Books. Ms. Anderson uses creative nonfiction to tell her stories, in a way that makes you feel, she's writing "just for me." Stanice's books and articles have been featured in everything from Essence Magazine and New York Times to Black Enterprise. Publishers Weekly reviewed her writing as "Gripping with a novelist's eye for dialogue..." Washington Informer Newspaper wrote, "Maya Angelou's literary talent and Iyanla Vanzant's prayerful insights." Amanda Gale, 700 Club Producer, wrote "real, inspiring, and honest. I couldn't put her book down." Stanice has also been a guest on national, international radio and TV shows, including, NPR, NBC, Radio One, Sirius/XM, University of Maryland's A Writer's Tale (her interview segment won the School of Journalism The International Telly Award), and several appearances on The 700 Club. A Speaker and Trainer for two decades, Ms. Anderson's talks, presentations, and #HopeIsContagious WriteShops Experiences, have positively impacted thousands throughout the US and the Caribbean; including, private businesses, nonprofit and government agencies, prisons, schools, universities, hospitals, and large corporations. The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration chose her to be the National Honorary Chairperson for Wellness Week 2012 and commissioned her to write a poem which was nationally published. In 2013, she helped set up and manage the the country's 1st drug rehab center on the main island making up St. Vincent & The Grenadines, West Indies. As a Performance Artist, she writes and performs "Spokentry," (her unique blend of poetry, spoken word and song), as well as her bold, poignant and funny one-woman shows.
