Stephen Powell was born in Wales in 1950. He is a journalist who worked as a staff correspondent for Reuters for 27 years. He has lived and worked on every continent except for Antarctica and brings to his craft a deeply ingrained global perspective. His reporting has included war and coups in Africa and Brazil’s transition from military rule to democracy. He loves the open road and from autumn 2018 to spring 2019 he walked the length of Portugal, following a zigzag path of nearly 1500 kilometres. He now lives in Portugal.
