Suhail Y Tayeb is a real estate developer and investor with over 20 years of experience across residential and commercial sectors involved in all stages of the investment life cycle. He has also advised HNWI and family offices on strategically diversifying and growing portfolios while divesting non-core assets to manage risk. As a published author and speaker, his interest lies in sustainability, social impact, affordable housing, and the HUD Section 8 housing choice voucher program. While much of the current literature focuses on sustainability in new real estate developments and developments in emerging economies, Suhail's work focuses on improving efficiencies and lowering the carbon footprint of the existing built environment through strategic renovations rooted in sustainability principles. By sustainably retrofitting, redeveloping, and repurposing existing properties to their highest and best use, Suhail strives to reduce the building's carbon footprint and enhance efficiencies while staying focused on the overall comfort and well-being of the occupants to deliver a high social impact. He holds a Master's in Leadership and Strategy as a Sloan Fellow from London Business School. His Bachelor's degree is in Electrical/Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Suhail's commitment to knowledge sharing extends to public speaking engagements at various events and seminars, where he imparts his views on sustainability, environmental and social considerations, and their effects on property valuation. London Business School recently featured Suhail's dedication to social impact in a case study. It demonstrates how he, as the protagonist, successfully managed and revived his team's failing interpersonal dynamics, added structure to an unstructured problem, and used digital technologies to impact and significantly enhance the business performance of an entrepreneur in a vulnerable community afflicted with extreme poverty.
