Susan Baruch was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Kent State U. and Ohio State U., graduating with a degree in Engineering Physics. She then worked as a scientist/engineer at Eastman Kodak company for 30 years until her "unplanned retirement" in 2009. Susan has thirteen U.S. patents to her credit. She now devotes her time to writing (she is working with a collaborator on a screenplay based on her novel Paternity), reading (she is an active member of two book clubs), singing (with the Rochester Women's Community Chorus) and volunteering at the Jewish Home as well as at one of Rochester's city schools. Besides her novel, Paternity, Susan has written many essays and poems. Her humorous essay, It's Personal, was featured in the anthology: A Cup of Comfort for Women in Love, published by Adams Media in October 2005. Her elegiac poem, Remembering in Color, was included in the 2005 issue of The Pinnacle Hill Review published by Writers & Books of Rochester. She has an essay and a poem published in the 2011 anthology, Motherly Musings, edited by Sueann Wells. Susan was a contributor to Kodak's blog: 1000words.kodak.com. She also appeared in the 2008 documentary film, The Muslims I Know. Susan and her husband resides in Pittsford, New York. They have three red-headed children and are nearly empty-nesters.
