Susan M. Land, PhD. is a Professor of Learning, Design, & Technology at Penn State University, where she is currently the Head of the Department of Learning and Performance Systems in the College of Education. She has over 25 years of professional experience in higher education where she conducts research, teaches, and practices instructional design. She's previously written 2 co-edited books with David Jonassen entitled Theoretical Foundations of Learning Environments. Susan has published over 100 scholarly articles, with Google Scholar listing her as the most cited author in the category of instructional design and technology. Her current research at Penn State examines the design of mobile augmented reality apps to support family science learning in outdoor community spaces.
