Hello, my name is Thomas L. Millhouse. I am a retired United States postal letter carrier, serving for 31 years. Since 1985, my wife Judy and I have participated in school career days, sharing insights about my profession. During these visits, we realized that no new storybook about the postal service had been written since 1979. Recognizing how much the industry has evolved with new automation technology, we were inspired to create a fresh educational resource for children. With the help of my wife Judy, an art major, and secondary school teachers, I developed a children’s storybook titled Myla’s Letter. This book teaches children how to write letters and addresses, while also explaining how mail is processed and delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. Targeted for preschool through junior high, Myla’s Letter became the foundation of our broader initiative, Children’s Rainbow Books. This series includes not only storybooks but also coloring books, e-books, narrated books with highlighted text, read-along features, audiobooks, audio game e-books, and even board games. Working alongside many dedicated teachers and educators, we also developed a free downloadable program called Letter Destination and Safety Kids. This in-school resource is available to schools across the United States, designed to be displayed on mobile devices, laptops, and computer.
