Chickering has written hundreds of personal essays and local newspaper columns under the heading, "The Pith Monger", treatments for reality and game shows, 2 plays, 2 feature length screenplays, hours of TV host dialogue, about 35 songs, a blog entitled vickichicki.blogspot.com, and a spec TV pilot based on her first novel, Nookietown. For 10 of those years she wrote, directed and produced on-air promos for Comedy Central, MTV, Lifetime, Discovery, and Oxygen. She also had her essays published in Cosmo, The Washington Post Magazine, 2 anthologies (The BUST Guide to the New Girl Order, and The Girls Guide to Taking Over the World) and spent a few years writing for BUST magazine, where she interviewed Joan Jett, Amy Poehler, and Judy Blume. Chickering's debut novel, Nookietown, was optioned for TV by Warner Bros. in a friendly bidding war. She lives in New Jersey with her family where she also fronts and writes all the music and lyrics for the band, Tori Erstwhile & The Montys.
