My very first recognition for writing was tieing for the highest mark in a creative writing course in high school. My first published work was the poem Cindy which was published in the Calgary Sun newspaper and won me a Cindy Crawford poster for my efforts. Cindy Crawford was divorced and looking for love. Entrants were encouraged to express why she should pick them. I obtained a Canadian copyright on my book of poetry. These poems were written over 4 decades and reflect my hopes and dreams, ups and downs around love. I won an International Impact Book Award for poetry in June 2024 for Inspirational Love. I am the third youngest of eight children. I have a bachelor of physical education degree and a business management certificate.
