I am just an ordinary chap, with a big heart, and two open ears. I love to listen to others, and to care for them, in the ups and downs of their life. In the midst of this roller coaster world, my mind whirls about, seeking clarity, seeking truth. Turning things over, inside and out, first this way, then that way. What is God’s will and direction for this topic, for this opportunity, for this challenge? But most importantly, what is God’s will for my life, and for yours? As a youth I started writing poetry. Poetry, at its heart, is trying to capture a message in the most succinct way possible. Oh, to entice the readers eye, to engage their imagination, and draw them in to the very last word. Yes, it’s an enjoyable pursuit. However, soon my writing pen was shelved, as the joys and responsibilities of young adult life took over… A few years down the track, and blessed with a wonderful family, the interest to write surfaced again. No, it had never completely drowned. That vivid imagination had hung in there precariously, snatching desperate gasps of air amidst the cycles of life. Yes, the inspirations, thoughts, and emotions keep tumbling around in my mind. Often, they will not rest until examined carefully. They demand clarity and order. As the words march along, they fall into a rhythmic beat. Rhyme springs forth. And so, a new poem is born. Examining life, and wrestling for God’s will in the nuts and bolts of every day. Giving God the praise, for He is so great, and I am so small.
