Wendy Higdon has been managing her weight for the past 55 years. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and cares about people who struggle with their weight. The birth of the idea for this book came from a friend who said, "Write what you are passionate about." Having grown up in the Boston area and later moving to Michigan, she graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. In the mid-70s she was a secretary in the Middle East and evacuated to London after the war broke out in Beirut. Upon returning to the United States, she worked in the courthouse in Colorado Springs and later at Hewlett-Packard. Wendy met her husband, who was serving in the military, in Colorado Springs. They have four adult children. When her oldest son went off to college, she went back to school to get her masters degree in counseling psychology. They are involved in Christian ministry and live in sunny Oceanside, California. She enjoys reading, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and baking, although she saves baking time for special occasions to avoid the collateral damage!
