TSgt William (Bill) Gates was born April 9, 1950, in Brentwood, Missouri, to Erma and Raymond Gates. He was born as a twin with his brother Robert (Bob) Gates. He has a younger brother, James (Jim) Gates. His parents moved from Brentwood to Maplewood, Missouri, in 1953. His dad had changed jobs and wanted to be closer to where he was working. His dad drove a milk truck in 1953, then changed jobs and started as an insurance adjuster until he retired in 1982. William graduated from Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School in June of 1969. The rest of his story is about being in the United States Air Force for 20 years. After being stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona, Bill retired and stayed in the Tucson area. With experience working with aircraft avionics, he secured employment in the computer field, especially with the name of Bill Gates. He climbed the corporate ladder to achieve some of the goals he wanted to meet while working in Information Technology. He was married three times. Both of his children live in Tucson. His daughter is a Family Nurse Practitioner, and his son works as a fabricator with one of the manufacturing companies located in Tucson.
