Fr. Bill felt his desire to be a missionary at the age of 18, while watching a commercial of people volunteering with the poor in Africa. He joined the Jesuits months later. He was ordained a priest in 1985, and went on to earn masters in both divinity and pastoral studies. He received his doctorate in ministry from the Catholic University in 2009. For over 30 years Fr. Bill has been developing Ignatian programs and retreats used by universities all across the United States. In 2012, he founded the Sacred Story Institute, dedicated to the research and development of effective spiritual development resources.
