William Peskett was brought up in Northern Ireland and educated there and at Cambridge University where he read natural sciences. He has worked in teaching, journalism, marketing, design management and corporate relations. He now lives in Thailand. He is married and has one daughter. Peskett has published two volumes of poems, the first of which won an Eric Gregory Award. These were followed by three novels, four collections of short stories and a book of verse. His collected essays on ex-pat life in Thailand, If You Can't Stand The Fun, Stay Out Of The Go-Go, have developed into a monthly blog of observations on life in Pattaya and, occasionally, further afield. Now with a strong following of faithful fans, the blog takes a light-hearted, irreverent but thoughtful squint at the strange goings-on in this extraordinary part of the world.
