I live in a small town in South Louisiana born and raised. I love the state, the food, the diversity and southern hospitality that are a part of who we are. I have an amazing support system that consist of my amazing husband Shannon Lee Whittington and a host of family and friends. Between the two of us we have four children, who have blessed us with three beautiful little girls, Kinsley, Lakelyn and Hazel another on the way and a handsome little boy Hudson Bear. To say I am blessed is an understatement no doubt. My struggles with bi-polar is sometimes my fuel to write. It helps calm my mind and becomes a form of release for me. I hope my books encourage those who also suffer from mental illnesses to not be ashamed of who they are. The world uses the word normal so freely as if anything that is different whether it be your body or your mind is not good. I hope they learn to look past those labels and use who they are for good. When I write I am able to step outside my busy mind and create a story that is completely fabricated. What's so amazing about that is, even with all the chaos in my head I am able to do so. God is the great author I am merely the vessel he has chosen to deliver the words I write. My stories aren't about love or a story book romance, I write about the subjects most people don't want to talk about. To me it's the real subjects of everyday life and the situations people face, some of them alone that push me to pick up the pen. It is my hope my books reach the persons that God has intended them for and they find new hope in the words. If my words inspire only one then all the hard work will have been well worth it. To God I give the glory, for without him none of this would be possible.
