There is no connections drawn between DiD and AI. No clue why they combined the two.

I've read a 60 lecture great courses on philosophy and it didn't feel as clear. Focusing on meaning of life only and then going through the key philosophies feels much more smooth.

I almost made it 4 stars because the last few lectures I just couldn't get into. But it may be just that post modern philosophy doesn't flow well for me.

This started strong, but the second half of the book didn't do it for me. It went from scientific studies and interesting takes, to general parenting tips.

I was tempted to give 3 stars overall but I feel the first half deserves at least a 4.

He does a good job of quoting his experiences and the various studies showing the effects of gluten.

However there are possible correlation / causation issues that aren't openly addressed. Also not enough separation between low carb/ketosis vs gluten free was discussed.

The series takes a somewhat time sequential approach to philosophy. Starting with the oldest to the newest.

In line with this approach is it's very historical story telling. If you like history, or biographical stories then you may enjoy this.

Also the approach felt more for philosophy majors who already know the general concepts and key players.

For the newbies, I think studying the person in question and their philosophy before each chapter would make this feel more smooth.

I wasn't expecting direction he took things. he went from an Genes, to relating various animal (not just monkeys) characteristics to how we may have developed over the course of evolution.

A much wider array of society topics were covered than I expected. For example how smoking and alcohol could be relating to some form of instinctual boasting.

Everyone interested in humanity should give it a shot, and everyone not interested in humanity should heed his lessons.

The title is definitely misleading to me. But I definitely wasn't engaged. The narrator is dang good, but I just wasn't drawn in.

I know that I didn't have to finish, but I hate leaving books half done.

The information is good, but it felt like reading a history book. So if that's your thing, go for it.

Good job on using scientifically backed studies as references. However, there still are many cognitive leaps throughout. Not all bad, but leaps none the less.

The story / history of Pixar is interesting (I also had no idea Steve Jobs was involved), but in various ways felt a little drawn out. For those who are into story more so than lessons, I'm sure that's a good thing.

For me I loved the second half of the book where he really got into some lessons he learned along the way. That made the book for me.
