Insomnia Cure (in the best way possible!)

When I downloaded this and listened for the first time, I thought it was funny! I love how the readers give their all for the entry they are performing. I've listened to this book possibly hundreds of times, however, because it's the perfect sleep aid. I slow the speed down to 0.85, and they smooth talk me into slumber. They have such beautiful voices, and do a great job with the presentation! And the content is so dry after the upteenth time through that I don't feel compelled to follow closely (as opposed to the current book I'm working on, where I don't want to miss a thing), so I'm free to drift off. It breaks all my in-head conversations enough for me to sleep, and for that I am grateful!
I am also really happy to know the definition of blunderbust and blackball. Thank you, Audible, for a wonderful performance that has become a household lifesaver!

So much of Alvie reminded me of myself, I loved her! She was very relatable with her quirkiness and awkward charm.
I am a huge fan of the Paper Magician series, and was excited when I saw this book was coming out! It can be read as a stand alone; however, I found it weirdly entertaining, as if I were in on a secret, when characters from the trilogy would surface in Alvie's story. Charlie has created a charming universe, and I hope she continues to explore it.
The performance was also really great! I listened at 1.5x speed, so it wasn't completely as it was designed, but I felt like the voice actor did a great job bringing it all to life.

Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

loved the book! warning-lots of language. It was consistent with how I viewed her, so I was able to ignore it. I enjoyed hearing about her decidedly normal upbringing and how she has won over people with her fresh, honest and hilarious views of the world. I also appreciated how not over the top, but glowing praise and love of her family came through.
