starts good, then bad then just ends like trash

The beginning was intriguing and kept me guessing what was going to happen but then the storyline gets predictable, and just gets boring afterwards. I think the whole war storyline was unnecessary and it dragged a lot at times. When the character who was raped is inserted into the storyline is when I really started to dislike the story! Everything this poor traumatized girl does is so unrealistic, and she didn't even go to the doctor to which she obviously needed stitches *rolls eyes* you can tell this was written by a man... Stephen King usually does good research before implementing stuff into his works but I felt like there was more emotion to the war storyline than the rape victim which just made the book garbage. Started strong but it just tanked afterwards.

Story
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

Story
S.T., a domesticated crow, is a bird of simple pleasures: hanging out with his owner Big Jim, trading insults with Seattle's wild crows (i.e. "those idiots"), and enjoying the finest food humankind has to offer: Cheetos®. Then Big Jim's eyeball falls out of his head, and S.T. starts to think something isn't quite right. Even the slobbering affection of Big Jim's loyal but dim-witted dog, Dennis, fails to cure Big Jim's debilitating malady. S.T. is left with no choice but to abandon his old life and venture out into a wild and frightening new world with his trusty steed Dennis.

great read, personally I wouldn't re read but then again I didn't hate it. kept me entertained would recommend. kind of reminds me of the secret life of pets in a sense. its from pets perspective, minus the post apocalyptic vibe.
