Story
Recently engaged and deeply ensconced in her third year of surgical residency in Chicago, Emily Hartford gets a shock when she is called home to Freeport, Michigan, the small town she fled a decade ago after the death of her mother. Her estranged father, the local medical examiner, has had a massive heart attack. At the hospital, she finds her father in near total denial of the seriousness of his condition. He insists that the best thing Emily can do to help him is to take on the autopsy of a senator's teen daughter whose sudden, unexplained death has just rocked the sleepy town.

Story that was easy to follow even when I would fall asleep many times or would have to break during work.

Story
Hollows Bend, New Hampshire, is a picture-perfect New England town where weekend tourists flock to see fall leaves and eat breakfast at the Stairway Diner. The crime rate—zero—is a point of pride for Sheriff Ellie Pritchett. The day the stranger shows up is when the trouble starts. The sheriff and her deputy investigate the mysterious teenage girl. None of the locals can place her. She can’t—or won’t—answer any questions. She won’t even tell them her name.

Wish I had this book years ago

When I started this audio book I just couldn’t stop listening. As a survivor of many years of sexual abuse I wished I had this book just for the understanding of some of my issues. I never really tried to find help and I always thought I was doing okay, this book opened my eyes.
I would recommend it to anyone and not just the abused but also a good read for friends, family or anyone who would like to know what could go on in our heads.
Thank you
