About this listen

Don't rent a summer house in Hollow's Bend this year! Patterson's scariest thrills since Death of the Black Widow.

Hollows Bend, New Hampshire, is a picture-perfect New England town where weekend tourists flock to see fall leaves and eat breakfast at the Stairway Diner. The crime rate—zero—is a point of pride for Sheriff Ellie Pritchett.

The day the stranger shows up is when the trouble starts. The sheriff and her deputy investigate the mysterious teenage girl. None of the locals can place her. She can’t—or won’t—answer any questions. She won’t even tell them her name.

While the girl is in protective custody, the officers are called to multiple crime scenes leading them closer and closer to a lake outside of town that doesn’t appear on any map…

Kept me guessing

It was a good book great narration. More like King than Patterson. Horror more than a suspense

strange & creepy

I'm surprised with this book.. because I kept forgetting who wrote it, I liken this more towards a Steven King style of writing and story.... but I did really enjoy it..

Predictable/Forced Ending

Imagine a netflix series that is a struggle to get through.

Only highlight is JD Barker’s character dialogue

A good listen

I must say that this was a really good listen for long rides. I did find it a little difficult, at times, keeping up with all the characters at first. After maybe hour 4 it got a lot easier.

WOW!

Totally NOT what I expected from James Patterson but had my attention from the get-go! Although it was a little farfetched, it was definitely worth the read & I'll be recommending it to others. Make a movie of it!

I’ll finish it, but

This is not the warm, friendly James Patterson I’ve come to know through a couple of his series and even a few stand alone novels. This reminds me of reading a Stephen King novel.!Similar disjointed scenes, creepy, mechanical characters, and weird mix of fantasy and real life, And to top it off, there seems to be a social issues theme coming into play. I will finish it though, to find out plain and simple. WhoDunIt.
