If you like the Death Korps, then you'll enjoy this book. Veteran Colonel Tyborc is an interesting character.

Story
The Chivalry series follows young William Gold, who runs away from London to follow the Black Prince, from the killing fields of France, through life as a routier and criminal, and to redemption with the Knights of Saint John, further disillusion and an eventual career as a professional soldier and knight. Rich in the details of life in the High Middle Ages, the series also deals with modern issues about the role of violence in society, rules of conflict and war, and the price that people pay for using violence.

Decent story but not as strong as previous entries. William struggles to be an interesting character the further the series goes.

Story
When the son of Baron Lothar Aquilena of the Border Princes is taken captive, he calls in a debt of honour owed to him by Duke Carrard of Quenelles – once his brother-in-arms and now his bitter rival. This uneasy alliance of warrior knights mounts a dangerous expedition into the lifeless desolation beyond the badlands to a forgotten realm cursed to know neither water nor shade. The baron's son is held captive in the Land of the Dead, and the kings and queens of old do not rest easy in their tombs.

Terrible

The narrator has a lisp and the author throws the Bretonnian lore out the window, lets knights use bows and has the characters crap on Bretonnia for not being progressive enough.
