Story
It's been a long time since Jack Skilton wrote an article for The Westport Press, but when rumors of a sinister presence lurking inside the waiting mortuary begins to spread, he's sent to Kessler's Funeral Home to investigate a possible haunting. What he discovers will definitely make front-page news if only he can live long enough to write about it.

Great Audio!

I listened to this audio version of the novel on a long drive and even though I needed to stop to use the restroom and get gas, I kept going to hear what would happen next. Great reading by Chris Brantley! Definite edge-of-your-seat thriller. I loved the characters and creepy setting. It's Book 3 in the series but stands alone.

Summer Break Horror
Reviewed: 05-20-20
From the first chapter, I was hooked on this story. Interesting characters that make the story easy to listen to and a great summer beach read. The ending pushed it to five stars. Now, I want to know what happens next.

Summer Camp Horror

I loved the new twist on the typical summer camp horror story. I could see this as a movie. L.V. Pires has a great visual style. Very creepy and a great payoff at the end. The narration was great!

Story
Becca's life is anything but ordinary. At 15, she's already experienced her share of pain. With a mom who drinks too much, a revolving door of father figures, and struggles at school, Becca wonders if she'll ever have a chance at a normal life. The only thing that keeps her sane is her little sister, Chloe; that is, until her mother's breakdown leads to her sister's disappearance.

Wow! So Good!

I loved the writing of this story. Becca's pain is anything but ordinary. There are so many things she goes through. Her mom is horrible and had me so angry and then there's her little sister, Chloe, who is just a pawn in this whole mess. Her situation was so tragic. I had to fight back tears. Really good stuff. I look forward to listening to more of L.V. Pires' work.
