I thoroughly enjoyed this well written Nicky James book, performed excellently by the artistic voice performer Nick Russo . How he is able to read the life out of these characters is just absolutely stunning! Tallus is his sassy self yet always trying to have Diems back. And Diem really needs someone who will try to understand him and give him the space he needs to become his own friend in life. He truly carries a lot of baggage❤️‍🩹

I am looking forward to read the next chapters of these two PI's🤞🏼

Well, this was really good! Tallus and Diem are such an odd couple, yet they truly make sense. Diem has some serious demons in his closet, and my heart was deeply invested in his character, hoping he would be redeemed. Tallus is considerate and sweet, yet funny and snarky and he has a way of seeing beneath the surface of Diems demons.

Nick Russo is a truly legendary voice actor, giving the words of Nicky James all the credit and painting all the pictures in my brain whilst listening. Wauw!

To me the mystery was not that important, it is the chemistry between these to that makes this book a 5-star read.

Old school Nicky James❤️💔❤️‍🩹

This is old school angsty Nicky James, with in depth characters and lots of feelings and tears, just how I love Nicky James's books!

I loved both Koa and Jersey and their journey towards love and a HEA. Koa has suffered a severe traumatized childhood, that has a huge impact of his ability to let love in and to trust other people. Jersey never forgot the boy he let down at summer camp when they were 14, and when they meet again in their early forties, Jersey is determined to make amends.

It is a long and winded road to get there, the sadness oozed of each page. Nick Russo is a great voice performer and he really managed to let both Jersey and Koa speak here, both as adults, but also in the many flashbacks from summercamp, where the two bonded strongly.

This was what we have been waiting for. I laughed and I shed very emotional tears for both Aslan and Quaid. Aslan wants to do the very best and of course things end up going their own way, just like real life tends to do. The suspense didn't matter much to me, but I enjoyed Quaid helping out Aslan and Torin, and seeing them work together. I really loved the development in Ruiz and Quaids friendship and the bar scene was truly epic😆

Well done Nicky James and always fantastic voice actor Nick Russo, who made my ears blush once in a while🤭

All the love for Aslan and Quaid❤️

Book five continues where book 4 left us, Aslan now fighting trauma and PTSD, which Nicky James writes in a very convincing and true to life manner. This is definitely not a standalone!

The support from Quaid is stunning and so filled with love for Aslan, their their fight for each other and their relationship growth truly touch my core. The romance in this book was everything I wished for, I have longed for them to get here, to really accept their love for each other and truly delve into their love.

Torin was a true support for Aslan, though first I feared he pushed to much. Ruiz has grown on Quaid (and me!) and I believe Frawley mirrors Quaid so much that it was hilarious at times.

The suspensense in this book was a bit toned down in compare to the other books, which I really really liked, I feel that the focus here was way more on the relationship between Aslan an Quaid and I´m so looking forward to more of these two❤️

Again Nick Russo overwhelms me with his voice acting, whether it be the intimacy between Aslan and Quaid or the characters they are looking into to solve the criminal case. Wow!

The relationship between Quaid and Aslan really unfolds and strengthens in this 4th installment. Nick Russo again performs exceptionally well, he is a very gifted voice actor, who gives the outstanding words of Nicky James life in my ears on my many strolls by the sea and in the woods.

Normally I prefer reading books with my eyes and I have enjoyed and read almost all of Nicky James' books. This series is romantic suspense, and I fear I would have browsed through much of the suspense, as I am not much of a suspense reader, but Nick Russo voiced every character so excellent(even the scary parts) and believable that I truly enjoyed the book as a whole.

Quaid and Aslan though - they are off the charts💥❤️I could happily read a book where they do laundry and drink coffee and be satisfied💫

I love Aslan and Quaid more and more. The suspense in this was again really well done despite the many threads and the overwhelming amount of appearing side characters. Nicky James is an excellent and very clever writer.

My only nuisance is that there are so many side characters that I sometimes lost who was who - Nick Russos absolutely fantastic voice acting helped me a great deal remembering who was who.

I would love love love a book that was a bit more concentrated on the development of Aslan and Quaid and their relationship❤️

Revisiting Krew's first real christmas is hilarious and heartfelt to listen to. Adam Gold is blessedly talented and acts all the Trial of Fear's characters intensely and so good.

Max is usually so calm and collected and watching him slowly come undone because of Krew's antics is utter fun. Krew has no limits when it comes to getting what he wants. Underneath the innuendos and sass though, Krew is being incredibly thoughtful towards his friends.
This is a worthy farewell to this absolutely fantastic and emotional series❤️You will need to read all the other books beforehand!

Elusive Relations is a seriously great follow up, the professional and personal relationship between Quaid and Aslan intensifies and deepens as both realize their feelings are more than either of them expected. Miscommunication, personal bagage and the weight of their current case, to Quaid very personal, blur their ignited, now sparkling relationship. But as time goes by, they are having trouble ignoring and denying what is really going on between them...

The plot in this book is even more thrilling as in the first, and very well done. The side characters are well outlined, and Nick Russo is yet again performing an amazing voice acting, from airhead Dylan to uptight female principal and all the other side characters(there are many!), to the intimate steamy scenes with only Quaid and Aslan. So well done💪🏼

I can't wait to read the next one!

Nicky James writes all over the place, and she is truly good at it. It's definitely not her fault that my mind tends to wander a bit during the suspense plot unrolling throughout the story. But every time Quaid and Aslan are in each others sphere my ears sharpened and I listened carefully, the tension rolling into my ears. I am looking forward to listen to more of this odd pairing and their shenanigans.

Despite being more of a detective novel this first book in the series reveals so much unreleased tension that inevitably has to explode💥
