This story is cute, but let's be honest.

If you like John Oliver, you’ll love this!

There are two different books within this story depending on your point of view and what you’re looking for. First of all it can be simply what it is: a cute kids picture book that presents a completely everyday inclusive view of LGBTQIA life. It doesn’t make a big deal about “look at what good people we are by being nice to an LGBTQIA character”, it’s just a natural part of life. Second of all if you watch John Oliver, which you probably do if you’re ordering this book, the underlying tone of a little bit of a screw you to the VP is enough to make you grin. The full cast of narrators led by Jim Parsons adds an extra level of fun to this short kids story! #Wedding #HappyEnding #Animal #LGBTQIA #tagsgiving #sweepstakes.

Story
Every year the people of the Protectorate leave a baby as an offering to the witch who lives in the forest. They hope this sacrifice will keep her from terrorizing their town. But the witch in the forest, Xan, is kind and gentle. She shares her home with a wise Swamp Monster named Glerk and a Perfectly Tiny Dragon, Fyrian. Xan rescues the abandoned children and delivers them to welcoming families on the other side of the forest, nourishing the babies with starlight on the journey.

Beautiful story for young and old alike!

I listened to this with my 6 and 8 year olds, and I loved it just as much as they did! The story starts off simple and calm, but with lots of curiosity. The pace is slow in a marvelous way, and while there is plenty of action, it’s not in your face with explosions and frantic running about. The masterpiece of this book is that everything is revealed at just the right time. It actually allows the reader to think, to analyze, to puzzle out what is really going on rather than handing it to you on a silver platter. A trait that is rare to find in today’s novels, and especially in the YA genre. I also have to say the narration was spot on, making this a 5 star book in every way! And who could possibly not fall in love with a book that has a truly enormous dragon that fits in your pocket but whose heart is bigger than the forest he lives in? Highly recommended! #ChosenOne #Magical #ChildProtagonist #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Geek-tastic!

The most amazingly Geek-tastic book I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading/listening to! And as if the book wasn’t awesome enough, having Wil Wheaton read it made me absolutely giddy! If you had asked me to choose the perfect person to read a book filled to the brim with 80’s geek culture, Wil Wheaton would have been number one on my list. And his performance added so many extra levels to the joy of the references in the book. I absolutely recommend this audible performance to everyone who loves geek culture! #NearFuture #Clever #1980s #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Story
As a child, Morgan Edwards marveled at the faery tales spun by her beloved grandmother, stories of the magical beings hidden in the heart of ancient Wales. But now Morgan is all grown up, a veterinarian who believes only in what science can prove - until the night a massive black dog saves her from a vicious attack. Suddenly a stranger stands before her, the man of her dreams made flesh and blood, not by science, but by a magic that could bring them their hearts’ desires...or cost them everything they have.

Awesome story, if a bit raunchy.

I truly enjoyed this book, and am very interested to find the rest in the series. The characters were unique and well rounded, and the Welsh fey element made it very fun! The plot was worthy of a Nora Roberts supernatural romance. And the performance was beautifully done. I’m impressed with how the performer handled the pronunciation of the Welsh words used in the story! My only disappointment was how graphic the steamy scenes were. There were a lot of crude words used, and the scenes were overly descriptive for my taste. It honestly turned me off a bit. But the rest of the story made it worthwhile. Still a fantastic book!
