Story
Rule #1: No fraternizing. That was the main rule you had to follow if you wanted to stay employed at Danger Inc. For four years, Dymon Danger never worried about breaking that rule until the day his new assistant, Quinci Everly, walked in his office. Withstanding Dymon’s tactics to make her quit, he realizes that neither Quinci nor his intrusive thoughts were going anywhere anytime soon.

Finally a proper love hate then love story without the typical cliches, with just the right amount of spice😜 and witty banter. The story line was clean and had a couple of surprises I didn't see coming. I love when I can't guess the story. A proper Dom/Sub relationship. Can't wait to see the other character stories develop....on to Book 2 and Diesel🔥

Story
Set in a small Louisiana parish, deep in the segregated South, Rootwork follows school-age sisters, Betty, Ann, and Pee Wee during one life-changing summer when the three of them head off to stay with their hoodoo-practicing aunt, Theodora, a powerful woman feared by the local townspeople. She teaches the girls the secrets of her craft, like how to make "hot foot powder" and how to whip up some "goofer dust" to get back at an enemy. The girls delight in their harmless hoodoo adventures until a tragic event involving the town's racist sheriff promises to change their lives forever.

Story
When the body of reality TV star Desiree Pierce is found on a playground in the Bronx the morning after her twenty-fifth birthday party, the police and the media are quick to declare her death an overdose. A tragedy, certainly, but not a crime. Yet Columbia grad student Lena—principled, headstrong, and allergic to the spotlight—knows that can’t be the case. Despite the bitter truth that the two hadn’t spoken in two years, they were half-sisters. Lena knew Desiree. And Desiree would never travel above 125th Street. Something is very wrong with the facts. So why is no one listening?

while the story was intriguing, the writing was good and kept you on your toes. However, the ending was lack luster and seemed rushed. The person and reasoning was lack luster and made no sense at all. For that alone I wouldn't recommend it, waste of time.

Sexy, Kink filled love story
Reviewed: 03-05-24
Good story line and excellent narrators. Sexy scenes that weren't vulgar, just on the right side of Kink. Glad there wasn't this long drawn out, I love you BUT Im mad and "break up" it's oh so cliché and tiresome. The character build left you wanting to know more, what happens next. I read the books out of order starting with Plié sooo😏. The accents could have been better it's not that hard to watch a few YT videos. But, I'm an American raised in Flatbush Brooklyn, my ears tuned, but I like that there were 3 readers.

2nd book of this series did not disappoint. storyline kept you on your toes while infusing hot dirty sex with added love story. I like the way the author pulled in the other aspects of kink Not just Dom/Sub. definitely need to circle back to the books this was a spin off of. can't wait for Mila story.
*please make sure narrators get the characters names right, I was like who the heck is Miller.
Also James was superb w/accents, Claviden was terrible and know the characters the Q brothers were American so no need for the awful hispanic accents, and her Jamaican accent sounded like an Irish brogue. There's too many narrators out here to make us suffer. loved her regular voice as Sal.

C.C delivers as usual!

The story lines gave all the impact we are use to. To spend time with characters we've grown to love and we know so well. The twists and hints and backwards glances to things that already occurred is really nice. The climax battle was a little meh. My only complaint was BD Wong whom I love from Law and Order and HTGAWM he destroyed our characters. I don't recall his reading to be so horrid last time. His perspective was so off it ruined it and mispronounced names like come on! Just like an acting gig research your characters a simple Google would have sufficed. Jace is not some vain Surfer dude, Alec is a bad ass w/some insecurities but nonetheless I won't discuss what he did to my Simon. When I finally caught on to his storyline(which broke me and I could have sat in that feeling w/Simon) I was like What the what?! . I'd rather READ💀 the next book.

Loved it , reading folklore/fairy tales with African twists was enlightening. I'm intrigued to read more . I'm a big fan of Greek gods/goddesses, nephalim, and wicken. was very fun to read the myths and 1/2truths as all myths are ...of African descent.

This book was met with so much acclaim i almost didn't read it. Because most times after so much hype the book flops in comparison. But she finds a new way of telling a story so rich and detailed that even when I see fragments of other books I've read they have a hum all their own. I laughed, I cried and saw early the lesson it was telling. I hope that when children read this book the lesson is embedded into them. I pray that if not my children then my grandchildren will know a world of love and equality💜

By the time Chloé Hilliard was 12, she wore a size 12 - both shoe and dress - and stood over six feet tall. Fitting in was never an option. That didn’t stop her from trying. Cursed with a “slow metabolism”, “baby weight”, and “big bones” - the fat trilogy - Chloe turned to fad diets, starvation, pills, and workouts, all of which failed. Realizing that everything - from government policies to corporate capitalism - directly impacts our relationship with food and our waistlines, Chloé changed her outlook on herself and hopes others will do the same for themselves.
