Cursing every few minutes
Reviewed: 03-02-25
Basically every person is expected to curse every few minutes. Totally ruined this story. Foul language does not make a story better. Writers, “Let’s aim for 1,000 four letter words and taking God’s name in vain at least 500 times.”

Slow, poorly written

Sorry I bought this one. There are WAY better authors out there on this topic. This is so slow and overly descriptive of feelings and thoughts of the characters. Move on to someone better. Don’t waste your credit.

Beautiful story of Mary and her love for the Calabar people. She did what other missionaries wouldn’t dare do. She reached the people because she lived as them, loved them, and shared Christ with them.

Deep beneath the ocean, there is a shimmering palace. Built of coral walls and windows of clearest amber, it is the kingdom of the merpeople. And one of these mermaids you might know well: she is the youngest, and is gifted with the most beautiful voice. Unhappy with her life as a mermaid, she dreams of living on dry land. One day, on her birthday, she ascends to the surface to find a magnificent three-masted ship drifting in calm waters. There, amongst the passengers, she meets the brown-eyed prince.

Story
"It is the heart of this place, and it is dying," says the Beast. And it is true; the center of the Beast's palace, the glittering glasshouse that brings Beauty both comfort and delight in her strange new environment, is filled with leafless brown rosebushes. But deep within this enchanted world, new life, at once subtle and strong, is about to awaken. Twenty years ago Robin McKinley enthralled listeners with the power of Beauty. Now this extraordinarily gifted novelist retells the story of Beauty and the Beast again - but in a totally new way, with fresh perspective, ingenuity, and mature insight.
