The story is good, but the chewing acting was cranked to 11. I haven't heard something so disgusting in months. Who in their right mind thinks that it would be fun to listen to that :(

In theory, the heroin is a powerful war veteran. A hardened , ruthless fighter ... Yet, it's 6h+ in, and there has been 0 action.
The days looks like 5h of walking, 2h of gossiping, 2h flirting, the rest is brooding and sleeping...
Does that look like a Heroine to you?

When summoned to a fantastical world and granted powers by a broken System, most freshly minted protagonists would strap on their big-boy boots and get ready for their stats to start climbing. But Fischer isn't like most MCs. In fact, he doesn't want to be a hero at all. Fame? Fortune? Power? He had enough of all that in his old life. Discovering forbidden fishing techniques and petting every cute animal that comes within scritching distance? Now that's a good time.

To be fair, the book opens by saying the Mc is a billionaire's child...
still, feels weird to have him become rich by chance again and again in his new life...
I'm just, more of a "eat the rich" than "read the rich" I guess

The long-awaited sequel to Jake’s Magical Market is finally here—and now with more market! Well, not quite yet. First, Jake has to survive a perilous trek through time if he ever hopes to return home to his friends, his market, and his former world. The last time we saw our intrepid hero, Jake had barely managed to escape being trapped on a dead version of his own world. Using a combination of his new powers, he threw himself backward through time, back to when the god that trapped him first rose to power.

Story
Henry and Jason led normal lives in Seattle before they were abducted to another world. Their kidnapper, the vain, self-styled god Dolos, refuses to send them back unless they can accomplish an impossible task. Oddly, Dolos doesn't seem to care if they succeed or not. Luckily, Henry and Jason studied Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) on Earth. Unfortunately, a Japanese American EMT and a geeky IT programmer don't have many other useful skills on a sword-and-sorcery world like Ludus.

He quickly learns that the only way the town can grow and push back the unknown substance threatening to consume it is if brave Heroes venture into an infinitely high, ever-changing tower, kill bizarre monsters for their equipment drops, and then deposit those items into a special chest.

Reviewed: 09-30-21
The story and the world is quite interesting.
The mc however feels too much like a know-it-all mort of the time.
The worst part by far is the voice acting.
It feels mechanical, everything has the same intonations and feel, and some characters' voice sounds forcefully "manly".
