Story
The charismatic and vivacious Katherine Delafield should be married by now. Her father arranged an engagement to the much sought-after tycoon Preston Clarke ages ago. The only problem is Preston refuses to acknowledge it. But this isn’t going to stop Katherine from living life to the fullest as she ditches all silly notions of love and marriage and sets out to sample all the excitement New York City has to offer . . . the more scandalous the better. Because no matter what happens, she and Preston will never marry.

Another great Joanna Shupe book

The petulance of both characters probably due to the narrators over acting and not so good voice.
Reviewed: 03-03-25
The story was decent. The narrator voice was too squeaky for the female characters and overboard dramatic for male characters.

Story
The Riviera means indulgence - if you’ve got money. For Sadie Reynolds, a down-on-her-luck student, the Riviera means dingy hostels and back streets. When a wrong turn puts her in jeopardy, the last thing she expects is to be saved by the most handsome stranger she’s ever locked eyes with. When she later wakes up in a luxury suite with a Mediterranean view, she’s in the tender care of her rescuer: Olivier Dumont, France’s most eligible bachelor, billionaire hotelier, and heir to the Dumont fashion fortune.

It was a B rated story with C rated narration.

Story line was sophomoric at best and the female lead had to have been a last choice candidate.

Story
Jason Thorn...my brother's childhood friend. Oh, how stupidly in love with that boy I was. He was the first boy who made me blush, my first official crush. Sounds beautiful so far, right? That excitement that bubbles up inside you, those famous butterflies you feel for the very first time - he was the reason for them all. But you get to live in that fairy tale world only until they crush your hopes and dreams and then stomp on your heart for good measure. And boy did he crush my little heart into pieces.

Loved story and of course Sebastian York but Lidia Dornet’s voice and acting needs lots of work.

Story
Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

Hardly ever write a review but my lord this was one of the most frustrating listens. I love both Andi and Sebastian but the female character was over the top annoying. If I heard ‘I don’t think I can trust him again after what he did to my BFF over a decade ago’ one more time and I’m only half way through the story, well…let’s say I’m over the whining.

Story
Once upon a time, there was a girl who dressed up and went to a big party at the palace. When she was there, she met a prince. They danced and fell in love. Damn good line. Too bad I don’t believe a word of it anymore. My name is Claire Montgomery, and I’m not a princess. I’m a fighter. I worked hard to earn my place on the emergency image repair team for one of the biggest public relations companies in the country. We’ve been called to the renowned Chicago headquarters of Stone Global Corporation, where it’s our job to clean up a heap of the Stone family’s filthiest laundry.

I’m a fan of Jason Clarke but just can’t deal with the breathy almost mousy narration by Devon Grace. No interest in listening to sequels.

It's been 12 years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved. Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed, and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one of biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he moved from England to America with his family when they were both 14. Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the instant they reconnect.

Not one to write a review.... I wanted to strangle Tru. Her up down sideways hypocritical struggle was infuriating. The author’s focus on a presumed infidelity was misplaced, ignoring the root problem/cause. Having said that I love Justine Eyre and always have. And...given my frustration and judging soon of the the reviews, Samantha Towle succeeded by evoking the emotion that ensured we all hung on until the very yup, predictable ending. Something to be said for that. Sooo, Will I read the second installment? Yes, probably but I need a break. And! Unlike Tru, I can walk away. XXOO
