Story
Sheila Kogan was not your typical pilgrim! This sixty-something, Jewish-Catholic, grandmother and dance teacher takes us on an unforgettable trek across Spain. With her, we flirt with Richard outside the Cathedral in Leon, reunite a sandal with a dancing Spaniard, weep with Meg over the loss of her daughter, and get a sensuous massage from a tyrannical angel. Close-to-the-bone, funny as well as heart-rending, the stories in Found Along The Way invite us to experience the Camino de Santiago as well as to journey inward, where fear and doubt battle trust and faith.

Terrible virtual voice narration
Reviewed: 01-19-25
Seems like a good book, but the terrible robotic virtual voice narration with mispronunciations made it distracting and tiresome to listen to. I have listened to other virtual voice books without a problem, but this was especially bad

Story
Walking the lesser traveled Portuguese Camino route, author Terence Callery makes the arduous 400-mile sacred pilgrimage from Lisbon to the tomb of Saint James in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. At a crossroads in his life, the former Maine aquaculture executive and alpaca farmer describes the personal quest as “the most intensely spiritual seven weeks of my life.” Portuguese Camino-In Search of the Infinite Moment is the adroitly told story of two journeys taken in tandem. The first story focuses on how his walking meditation brings him into the “infinite moment” where he finds his ...

Strange choice for AI narration
Reviewed: 07-31-24
I intensely dislike AI generated narration. It is especially jarring that it is the story of a middle aged American man read in a British woman’s voice. Why?? Just Why???

Story
When faced with an empty nest, Kari decides to spread her wings. Giving up a job she loves, she sets off to walk across a whole country. A big one. A contemporary take on an ancient experience, Pilgrim is an entertaining and moving memoir of Kari’s 900-kilometer walk to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. In classic pilgrim fashion, she meets and befriends an array of companions along the way, from all walks of life, united by a common sincerity of purpose. Battling through sun and snow, mud and mountains, blisters and bedbugs, her real destination turns out to be "deep peace".

Too much sex
Reviewed: 11-20-23
So much for a spiritual pilgrimage. This turned into the story of a recently divorced middle aged man trolling for sex on the Camino. Really disappointed
