Story
If Sadie Turner is good at anything, it’s putting stuff in order. So when she finds her “perfect” life in disarray, she hopes a summer vacation at her aunt’s lake house will help her piece it back together. She wants to relax, reboot, and heal the wounds left by her cheating ex-husband. And that requires time away from men. All men. Or so she thinks.

Just ok

The story was just ok. Too many times she tried to be cute or clever or funny, but it was kind of like using stale cliches.
The story tellers voice got on my nerves but by the time I was thoroughly annoyed I was far enough in that I wanted to see what happened. Her "voice" she used for Dody and Fontaine were obnoxious! Her intonation was just not right for a "love story" - it was more suited for a text book.
I might give Tracy Brogan another try but not with this narrator.

Story
Teagan Harper is barely ten years old when she finds herself orphaned and sent away to live at Raven's Peak, a Gothic estate on the seaside cliffs of Maine. Soon, though, her heartache and loneliness are tempered by a blossoming friendship with the only other child living at Raven's Peak: Kane Doyle, only two years older than Teagan and abandoned by his mother. Over the years, the pair grows inseparable. First they're pranksters and confidants, but eventually their feelings change, and best friends turn into soul mates.

Good but obnoxious at times
Reviewed: 08-01-16
I just had to keep reading (I listened to this book during my commute to and from work). For the most part I liked it, but I got annoyed by the sex. When I read a few reviews that talked about the sex scenes I was like "oh come on", but after a few, I was like: really? Again? I ended up skipping many of them just to get back to the story.
I did find some of the characters internal struggles a bit much at times. They were both so unsure all the time! I kind of wanted to shake them both and get them to just look at the big picture!
In the end though I did finish it but it's not one I'll read (listen to) again.
