Fun story to listen to, I recommend it
Reviewed: 03-02-18
I really enjoyed hearing their story in their own voices. Fun story to listen to. Genuine. I appreciate that they included their spiritual views since it was an important part of who they are and made their story that much more interesting. My one criticism is that Joanna's reading/performance was fast and somewhat mechanical, but that's OK. I would rather hear the story in her voice than someone else's that was more polished.

Another Dan Brown classic
Reviewed: 10-27-17
Like all of Dan Brown's classics, I didn't want to put the book down (or stop listening to the audio). Great locations. Great characters. Good plot. I had one issue with the ending but I can't explain it here without spoiling it for those who have not yet read/listened. If you enjoyed other Dan Brown books, you'll enjoy this one.

Covers all the main topics quite well
Reviewed: 10-18-17
I didn't know what to expect when I purchased this book, but I was pleasantly surprised after just a few chapters. The book covers all of the main topics you would expect to be covered for this topic: diet, exercise, spiritual, eastern medicine, herbs, acupuncture, emotional well being, etc. But the presenter, "Dr. G" comes from a western medicine background as a heart specialist. So the presentation is special in that it is seen through the eyes of someone who was professionally trained to cut and prescribe drugs. The chapters are about 30 minutes each. I found the information very helpful. My only issue is I would like a hard copy of this information but have been unable to find a copy yet.

With the support of former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta, investigative reporter Leslie Kean draws on her research to separate fact from fiction and to lift the veil on decades of U.S. government misinformation. One of the Best Books on UFOs That Is Out There
- By Nils J. Rasmussen on 08-19-14
Just the facts
Reviewed: 06-18-17
Stays focused on just the sightings of UFOs. Very fact based. Kind of dry. Almost textbook like. The narrator had flawless enunciation, especially with foreign words and names, but was sooooo monotone; it made it hard to stay awake listening to her. Good narration requires varying your pitch, pace, and power. Unfortunately Ms. Henderson's pitch, pace, and power almost never changed and she was hard to listen to.

Author should have hired a professional narrator
Reviewed: 09-02-16
I'm sorry to be so critical, but the author should have hired a professional narrator. The author's voice comes across as monotone and low energy. It was tough too listen to. The material itself was practical, but nothing extraordinary. And finally, the author should consider changing the title to "13 Things Mentally Strong People Do" and avoid negative phrasing. I was really looking forward to this book but struggled to get through it.

For decades we have been taught that fat is bad for us, carbohydrates better, and that the key to a healthy weight is eating less and exercising more. Yet despite this advice, we have seen unprecedented epidemics of obesity and diabetes. Taubes argues that the problem lies in refined carbohydrates, like white flour, easily digested starches, and sugars, and that the key to good health is the kind of calories we take in, not the number.

Way too long - good research but. . .
Reviewed: 04-16-16
If I knew what I know now about this book, I would have not purchased it. It's a great research book. The author cites tons of studies to prove his points but I kind of got lost in the weeds of all the information and ended up confused and not even certain what his points were. This book would have been great at about 1/4th the size. The author really needs to condense the main points and leave a lot of the reference material in an appendix. So as far as rating this book, it's hard to do. 5 stars for being thorough and well researched. 1 star for listenability. So I gave it 3 stars. The narrator of the book was OK but not great. Honestly - not sure anyone could have done a great job narrating since the material was pretty dry and textbook-ish.
