had me on the grip of my driver's seat the entire journey. awesome book for a truck driver on the road. loved every second. I was skeptical about the short story format at first, but the length of the full series (around 23 hours) seemed to promise results. I was not disappointed. Craig DiLouie is now a favorite author and the narrator, R.C Bray, did an amazing job bringing everything to life. without him I doubt I'd of been so engrossed in this story series. amazing work all around.

excellent conclusion
Reviewed: 01-08-22
the book ties everything up nicely. one of the most amazing things about this series is it's constant cross cultural references from other games. the author puts them in at the exact right time to be either impactful or hilarious. I really love everything about this series and I am happy with the conclusion I was given. sad it's over, I really wish for more, but all good things end.

I was hooked the moment I started this litrpg, and I'm new to the genre still. didn't feel flooded with useless information like most of the stories in this genre, this novel is fantastic in relaying basic information as well as just enough to keep you informed as you're entertained. the narrator is top notch.

traditionally, books like this read in audio format do poorly to convey the scenes as well as the proper pacing of the book. I can say the narrator did a splendid job of faithfully following the books pace and also doing an awesome performance with the voice acting. I found the entire book not wanting, and I didn't feel lost or disengaged like traditional books do with such length. very nice work to the author and awesome job to the narrator!

Story
Vainqueur Knightsbane is your average dragon: A giant, fire-breathing lizard who loves to take naps on his golden hoard, kidnap princesses for fun, and make the life of adventurers miserable. Vainqueur's only pleasure in life is to watch his treasure get bigger, one coin at a time. So when a would-be thief turned unwilling minion tells him about "classes", "levels", and "quests", Vainqueur wonders if maybe, just maybe, he should consider a career change. After all, why bother hunting monsters for free when you can get paid for it?
