About this listen

With 50,000 freed slaves at their back, Raz i'Syul Arro and Syrah Brahnt leave the savannahs of Perce behind. Karesh Syl is no more. Karesh Nan burns in their wake. Beyond the border before them the South looms, ready and waiting, and together Raz and Syrah pray they are prepared for the great offense they must now undertake against the fringe cities.

All the while, however, another threat has threaded her way into the ranks of the Mahsaden, and is waiting only for the right time to pull her web of woven fire tight....

Amazing

Honestly I just got the shots of Raz, but to be honest the narrator and his flow with the words brings everything to life. Love it!

Great, but not quite "I Loved it" like the others

It had plenty of awesome moments and some cool large scale battles, but dragged out some fights and reminded you a few too many times of past events affecting the main characters. Who hasnt gone through trauma in this series? Some things are easily predictable and others pleasent surprises. Overall I think it was a good continuation but sacrificed a tad of attachment toward the favored characters. The Narrator's performance though, as always, is spot on.

As always a great book

Bryce delivered yet another great book. This book has it all. The way he masterfully leads you down a path only to turn in a direction you did not anticipate keeps you riveted throughout.

Great performance

Great performance and good writing, a bit on the large scale momentum of these things, Though its at the stage in the book where all those things are converging to a single point and the tendency for monotonous story telling is a common pitfall. Luckily in this book, it is far and few between. Though Troop movements are really hard to describe and imagine in both writing and reading it seems.

Not as good as previous entries

While I still enjoyed this book, I found it to be a bit of a slog to get through. There was very little development of any of the characters, and it seemed like somewhere around 55%-65% of the runtime was dedicated to the final battle. This would be fine if it was particularly interesting, but unfortunately this one just wasn't. I think if the book was edited down to around 13-14 hours it would have been more enjoyable, Or just dedicate more of the runtime to character development and much less to a single battle.

**SPOILERS BELOW**

I was also sort of looking forward to this book being a resolution to the story as a whole, but really, very little was actually resolved. Sure the majority of the Mahseden is gone, but the two people already established as the real threat are still there. In fact, one of those two was built up even more in the last chapter, I assume with the intention of continuing the series with her as the main adversary. I'm not a fan of series that just let the antagonist slip away at the very end solely so another book can be written, so I worry a little about this ones purpose going forward.
