Story
A global movement guided by love. Humans are a varied and divergent bunch with all manner of beliefs, morals, and bodies. Systems of oppression thrive off our inability to make peace with difference and injure the relationship we have with our own bodies. The Body Is Not an Apology offers radical self-love as the balm to heal the wounds inflicted by these violent systems. World-renowned activist and poet Sonya Renee Taylor invites us to reconnect with the radical origins of our minds and bodies and celebrate our collective, enduring strength.

Story
Burnout. Many women in America have experienced it. What’s expected of women and what it’s really like to be a woman in today’s world are two very different things - and women exhaust themselves trying to close the gap between them. Sisters Emily Nagoski, PhD, and Amelia Nagoski, DMA, are here to help end the cycle of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Instead of asking us to ignore the very real obstacles and societal pressures that stand between women and well-being, they explain with compassion and optimism what we’re up against - and teach us how to fight back.

Estes has a voice as soothing and full of wisdom as could be asked for. This series is a balm and a guide, invoking the wisdom of the body, soul and the mind through the recounting of many stories, both personal, folkloric, mythological and spiritual. Estes does a masterful job using Jungian influenced psychology irrevocably fused with story to provide a guide and a loving push towards loving the body and the self. You'll find eerily pertinent advice and comfort here.

Listen to this book if you need a big dose of comfort and encouragement. Brown's latest work is stunningly sane. She gives a wonderful reading as well, and I can't recommend this audiobook enough.
