Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Andy Weir did it AGAIN!
Reviewed: 05-19-21
Andy Weir did it again! This book is just pure awesomeness. It hits all the right notes as The Martian did. It's a unique story that is just as fun as The Martian was without being just a repackaged hit. It's smart, fun, and different. Ray Porter does an amazing job giving us another instant classic.

Story
Infinite Worlds is the most popular VRMMORPG on the market. Its maps are so vast, developer Hard Rock Data utilizes a network of highly advanced artificial intelligences to control it. But it’s not without problems. That’s why Game Masters like Jeff Driscoll have jobs. The downside? He’s not allowed to play the game. Something about conflicts of interest and favoritism. His very boring and tedious job is to help players deal with the occasional bug that slips through the cracks and ensure they enjoy their time playing enough to give a five-star rating.

In High Earth, digital entertainment is everything. Shows. Virtual worlds. Simulations - there’s something for everybody in a city where working for a living has been rendered obsolete by technological advancements. Even a short walk outside to visit with others is no longer necessary. Just load into the network and you can be with anyone, anywhere. For Asher Reinhart, nothing compares to Ignis; a live reality show that pushes human beings to their very extremes.

This book was amazing. Narration was dead on! Perfectly paced. This book is a fun space reality show with real consequences for the “habitants” and then production team. Main character is the executive producer following the unknowing cast of a generation ship launched to carry the torch of humanity. If you loved Ready Player One you’ll love Vicarious.

Pure awesome grit!

The Roach is an amazing story following a disabled former hero. It really captures how frustrating one might feel from going from the nightmare of all criminals to a wheelchair ridden drunk who feels worthless. It's a must for anyone who likes the more gritty superhero genre. RC Bray is at the top of his game in this one voicing this washed up hero.

A follow-up book worthy of the original!

I had mixed feelings at times listening to Infinite (1) because of how "different" it was from my normal listens. It was way more thought provoking with a touch of WTF then I was use to but like with many great stories you keep listening and it pays off. Infinite 2, though it was a different feel still hit all of the great notes the first book did with having a much different feel. If you loved Infinite you will love Infinite 2. It's just one of those books that you don't think needs a sequel until you listen to the sequel and it's like, yeah, that added to the overall story in a great way.

A Different Feel (In a good way)
Reviewed: 12-21-20
Brushfire had a different feel to me from some of the other books. Coming off the huge ending of Critical Mass, Brushfire picks right up where the other left off. Humans are on top of the universe. Making allies and deals. You know the universe wasn't having that. Brushfire leaves the ExFor universe ready for some big events. Can't wait for the next one!

YA at it's best!
Reviewed: 09-06-20
So many YA books claim to be "Harry Potter meets the Hunger Games" in their description and this books is no exception to this. The exception is that it truly is "Harry Potter meets the Hunger Games" in many ways. This book is a perfect mixture of being taken away by the powers that be for an unknown purpose and MAGIC! Is this book free of all the YA tropes, no, do those tropes work in a new and unique way, yes. Also, unlike a lot of the recent YA hits that have very disappointing ends, this one breaks from those hits with an end that works and will leave you satisfied. Also, all 3 books for a single credit, what do you have to loose?

Action packed, Thought Provoking Thrill Ride
Reviewed: 07-13-20
NPC by Jeremy Robinson was an amazing ride that I wasn't expecting. Every time I thought I had things figured out Jeremy throw me for a loop. As a Christian I am always very wary of how the "Christian" in a story is portrayed. They are usually either way over the top Bible thumper or total hypocrite. It was nice to see a normal person who is just struggling with loss and how his faith is tested. Especially when everything he thinks he knows about God and the world is turned upside down. I would recommend this 100 times over to anyone looking for a great thought provoking book that explores the idea of us living in a simulation and how that realization affects our prospective on life, other people and faith.
