Disturbing
Reviewed: 05-13-24
I usually do not write reviews but I knew even before the final chapter that I would be doing just that! This is the most disturbing, dark book in all the Lisa Gardner series, that I’ve read or listened to over the years. While learning more about spiders than I ever cared to, she took us deep into the mindset of the deranged minds of pedophiles. Yet still manage to tap into the humanity of the victims. I felt more emotions - anger, frustration, hurt, dismay, disgust, helplessness, and horror in this one book than any mystery novel I’ve read in my lifetime. I am aware that this issue is all too much a reality for so many. I'm incentivized to want to do more to protect not just my children but others. I’m sure Ms. Gardner needed a break after writing this one. I too will need a break and read something way more frivolous to reset my psyche. Thank you for stretching the minds of your readers and bringing awareness to an all-too-real problem.

This book was amazing!
From start to finish it grabs you from the very beginning and takes you on a journey throughout the lives of the characters in the book. The narrator with different voices makes you know who was speaking at what moments. The end was crisp and to the point and really, keep you on the edge of your seat. Waiting to see what happens next. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! From the first chapter you’re invested in the characters. I like how flawed and imperfect they are, yet you’re rooting for Madison and Nate to succeed. Now I can’t wait to get into the next book in the series
