Story
The Forerunner has decimated the Vanguard Islands in a surprise attack from the Trident warship. King Kade Long—seeing no alternative—accepts a peace deal, committing to a perilous mission with X, the “Immortal,” to activate weather-modification reactors at the poles. But as Kade and X set off, the fragile peace is threatened by Gran Jefe’s one-man guerrilla war against the psychopathic knight, General Jack. Meanwhile, halfway across the world, Michael and his family begin to settle into their new life in the Canary Islands, only to discover that it’s not the sanctuary they believed it was.

if this is truly the end for x and miles what a way to go out. not only is this a perfect ending to the helldivers series but a huge shout out needs to go to SNS for the fact that he has four different story lines going on throughout this book. The fact that you don't get the mixed up and they leave you wanting more or what's going to happen next is truly amazing. I don't recall ever having goosebumps listening to the end of the book. I wish this wasn't the end because all of the characters built up throughout the series are truly remarkable

The writing in this book is unbelievably good. The way Jack incorporated current events/politicians is amazing. while you do see the (tip of the hat) to 007 l, it's still in its own right a Terminal List series. 10/10 I hope this isn't the last of it

Story
Nate Overbay, a former soldier suffering from PTSD and ALS, goes to an 11th-floor bank and climbs out the bathroom window onto the ledge, ready to end it all. But as he’s steeling himself to jump, a crew of gunmen bursts into the bank and begins viciously shooting employees and customers. With nothing to lose, Nate climbs back inside, confronts the robbers, and with his military training, starts taking them out, one by one. The last man standing leaves Nate with a cryptic warning: “He will make you pay in ways you can’t imagine.” Soon enough, Nate learns what this means.

this book has all the emotions from sad, happy to feeling everything Nate is going through. The in-depth of each character is absolutely perfect. once again Gregg Hurwitz has out done himself.
Scott Brick brings the characters to life once more in outstanding fashion.

being a Pittsburgh Steelers fan I have always hated the New England Patriots.... (speaking of course 2001 AFC Championship game) but after listening to this book, I look at Coach Belichick and Tom Brady in a complete different manner. Mr. Robert Craft also by far would be the best boss to work under. the dynamic of football and the team building of New England in general that this book brings out is absolutely incredible.... it begs to question, if Art Modell wouldn't of moved Cleveland to Baltimore and would've given Belichick the keys to the kingdom like Craft did would this dynasty of what new England is be Cleveland...

Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

absolutely stunning the way Stephen King can suck you into this story. not to mention the way the different characters are so profoundly brought to life.
p.s if you are thinking about reading this book thinking it's going to be "the shinning" movie. it's not. the movie is good in its own sense, but this is The Shinning the way it was supposed to told

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....
