Publisher's summary

With the walls closing in, Navy SEAL sniper James Reece is on a race to dismantle a conspiracy that has forced America to her knees in the latest high-octane thriller that seems ripped from the headlines from the “hottest author on the thriller scene today” (The Real Book Spy), #1 New York Times bestseller Jack Carr.

You think you know James Reece. Think again.

A storm is on the horizon. America’s days are numbered. A Chinese submarine has gone rogue and is navigating towards the continental United States, putting its nuclear missiles within striking distance of the West Coast.

A rising Silicon Valley tech mogul with unknown allegiances is at the forefront of a revolution in quantum computing and Artificial Intelligence.

A politician controlled by a foreign power is a breath away from the Oval Office.

Three seemingly disconnected events are on a collision course to ignite a power grab unlike anything the world has ever seen.

The country’s only hope is a quantum computer that has gone dark, retreating to the deepest levels of the internet, learning at a rate inconceivable at her inception. But during her time in hiding, she has done more than learn. She has become a weapon. She is now positioned to act as either the country’s greatest savior or its worst enemy. She is known as “Alice” and her only connection to the outside world is to a former Navy SEAL sniper named James Reece who has left the violence of his past life behind.

Will there be blood?

Count on it!

Will the forces that threaten to destroy the United States be enough to light the fuse of Reece’s resurrection? From “master novelist” (Ballistic magazine) Jack Carr comes his most intense thriller to date, pressing “emotional buttons that other writers wouldn’t dare explore” (The Real Book Spy).

Best Yet

Sofa king good! The influence of Peter Zeihan’s demography and geopolitical thinking is evident. Carr provides ample insight into his own beliefs as well. James Reece grows as a human and a man more-so in this book than any other. That said u still get old school Reece

One of the best so far.

Couldn’t stop listening, finished it in 2 days and was fully engaged the whole time. The combination of incredible writing by Jack Carr and fantastic storytelling by Ray Porter makes this my second favorite James Reece novel.
The last 2.5 hours would’ve had me on the edge of my seat, but I was too busy pacing and cheering.

As is tradition

This is the seventh book in the series and just as exciting as the first. It’s amazing to see the evolution on an authors skill as well. Carr has become so polished it’s impressive. Porters audio is perfect as well. 10/10 all around.

Jack Carr excels again.

Loved the deep dive in the authors notes into his influences and as he paid tribute to the authors that came before him.

James Reece

Jack Carr exceeds expectations again, I found more hints of Ludlum than Fleming but that's just my opinion. Thoroughly enjoyable listen Ray Porter is excellent as usual. The regular cerebral flashbacks to his deceased family seems to be a coalescance of film adaptation that wasn't as strong in first book and the excessive press checks are ...well you know. personally if I Lose a firearm and it's not out of my possession, I have no need to repeatedly press check just to insure it's still in battery. love then books Jack, keep them coming.

The writing is bad ass

Amazing author with an amazing drive for greatness I have been with James Reece since the very first copy of the terminal list when it released and I can say this book brings it to another level
