LOVE this book - Narrator is terrible

The Dark In You series is one of my favorites - I read it over and over but this narration is enough to make me hate the books. I won't be listening to anymore after this one. Cat's voice is too grating and she doesn't have the depth to appropriately portray Knox's deep and sensual voice. Kind of sad as I hoped to get an audible view of the characters.

Bob provides a detailed and very engaging narrative of our Presidential history. Not just how but who and even why elections turned out as they did.

I like to listen while I cook but this story and performance was so disturbing I had to turn it off and switch to music. Not sure if I'll be able to finish it. Don't let me words stop you though. The performances are brilliant and the story is amazing if you like being scared to death!

This is the second book in the series and I'm already jonesing for the 3rd book! The story is rich in detail and both the caracters and the performance by Heather Wilds draws you into their world. You long to be on the sea with Dilys and his men. You long to be by Summer's side as she battles her demons and the pirates. Please, please, please be working on the next book!

The story is great but the narration couldn't be worse. So disappointed!! Thank heavens this is part of the romance package and I didn't pay for it.

Would you listen to Scourged again? Why?

Yes - after I reread the series, I would listen again as the narration brings so much depth to the characters. I am both heartbroken and hopeful regarding the future of these characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oberon - because he brings not only wisdom but levity to Atticus's life.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I would not get the depth of characters. I didn't feel there was as much separation between Atticus and Granuale this time however.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Be ready for the unexpected.

Would you consider the audio edition of Night Fire to be better than the print version?

It's always interesting to hear someone else's interpretation of the characters. I really enjoyed the narrator's voice for Rafe. It added a richness to him that I couldn't provide just reading the book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I always like Kohl. Though he played a small roll in this book, I have read the others in the series and he strikes me as a man who was able to conquer his demons and help others with theirs too.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene in the bar where they make a bet on the outcome of a tete-a-tete.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No. Not because the writing wasn't good but because this is just the beginning of the story and it was more about setting up action then moving my emotions.

Any additional comments?

I don't normally care for cliff hangers but having read these books, I was more intrigued with the audio then annoyed by the cliff hanger. I look forward to listening to others.

What did you like best about Slade? What did you like least?

The general story was a good though at times I felt the dialogue was stiff and juvenile.

Would you recommend Slade to your friends? Why or why not?

No - too many similar books available that were better written and narrated

How could the performance have been better?

Yes - the narration really ruined the book for me. It was monotone and pedantic. I was not able to determine which character was speaking by the narration but only by the story. The characters were wooden.

Was Slade worth the listening time?

Not really

Would you listen to Unseen again? Why?

Both Unborn and Unseen are gripping, intriguing, can't put down stories. I want so bad to hear the next part of the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I'm drawn to Oz because I just can't give up hope that he can be redeemed though I love Kiersan too. He's the perfect big brother.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes
