Story
The jungle, 1949: Everyone said it was impossible, dangerous, and unwise. Three expeditions mounted by men had failed. How could one led by a woman succeed? “Don’t be a fool. You’ll die out there,” a friend whispered to Ruth. But a siren haunted her dreams, calling to her. She had no choice but to follow it into the deepest, darkest jungle in the world, a decision that would change her life forever.

Captivating read
Reviewed: 01-25-24
I listened to the audiobook on this title. It held my attention from the start. The character development was very good and I found them to be realistic and very likeable. It’s a story within a story and Ms. Casey wound them together beautifully. I was a bit disappointed at the end because all of a sudden it was over.

Story
Talking to people about your designs might seem like a basic skill, but it can be difficult to do well. In many cases, how you communicate with stakeholders, clients, and other non-designers may be more important than the designs themselves. Because if you can't get their support, your work will never see the light of day - no matter how good it is. This practical guide focuses on principles, tactics, and actionable methods for presenting your designs.

Repetitive information
Reviewed: 01-03-24
The information just kept repeating over and over throughout the chapters nothing new. I was expecting to learn how to articulate why we make the patterns that we do and how to present designs and that did not happen. It was just elementary UX design.

Story
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Powerful story

This is an arresting story of loneliness, determination, human kindness and cruelty, love and life. I found it hard to stop reading once I started. I highly recommend it.

Story
A poignant look at the disillusionment and angst of the post-World War I generation, The Sun Also Rises introduces two of Hemingway’s most unforgettable characters: Jake Barnes and Lady Brett Ashley. The story follows the flamboyant Brett and the hapless Jake as they journey from the wild nightlife of 1920s Paris to the brutal bullfighting rings of Spain with a motley group of expatriates. In his first great literary masterpiece, Hemingway portrays an age of moral bankruptcy, spiritual dissolution, unrealized love, and vanishing illusions.

Boring!
Reviewed: 10-24-18
This was painfully boring to me. The narration didn’t help any. The characters were so uninteresting and the just wandered around doing self-indulgent things and complaining. Yes, I get what people say the point is but Hemingway’s first novel just seems so overrated!
