Story
When a political party helps organize and finance nationwide protests, anarchists and mob mentality takes over and violent riots start breaking out in many of our major cities. At the same time, part of the west coast is trying to recover from a series of devastating earthquakes, severe drought, and widespread wildfires. These events cause a record drop in our modern-day stock market, and due to a national debt of over $28 trillion, the value of the dollar is on the edge of collapsing causing massive layoffs to start taking place across the country.

Those consumed with hatred won't like this book.
Reviewed: 07-22-19
You can tell that this story is told from the viewpoint of a professional soldier. You know, the ones that actually put their lives on the line for a stranger, unlike those delightful people that only think about what they should be given and what they feel is owed to them. You know the type.
It won't be received well by the radical far left, the bitter, those with obsessive jealousy issues, or the hypocritical "holier than thou" crowd that feels they have the right to judge everyone else that doesn't think and believe exactly as they do.
This story is about the real world and is ripped from the headlines and turned into an amazing story.
Looking at the reviews from Amazon, I feel sorry for those that are so shallow-minded, they quit reading it after the first couple of chapters. The truth might hurt your feelings but it is the truth!
Some complained because it was "too real". Really? That's what made it so good. God forbid a story talks about how things really are, instead of the watered-down "PG-rated" fantasies of so many authors today where they always try to make the main characters sound so "perfect and righteous." This story is about real life, real people, and how it could actually be. If you can't handle it in an apocalyptic story, how are you ever going to survive if you have to face part of it for real?
It's very sad that people don't understand the words, "Graphic language and violence." They read the advisory, but then they complain about it, just like they do the TV series, Yellowstone. You need to grow up or go back to watching episodes of Gilligan's Island where I'm sure you thought the way Mary Ann dressed was shocking and inappropriate. That's internet trolls for you though.
I'm sure those complaining have never served or never would serve in the military or as a public servant like a police officer or any kind of first-responder. This is how it really is on the streets and in the military. Welcome to the real world.
I can't wait for books 2 and 3.

Reviewed: 07-22-19
This is an outstanding series for anyone that wants to hear the truth about where our society is heading and what kind of teamwork it takes any time you're in a situation of survival.
I love how all the main characters are inspired by an actual group of combat veterans. It's a series that is very hard to stop listening to.
Unless you're one of those that are just consumed with bitterness and hate, you can't go wrong with this series. Very entertaining and educational at the same time.
By the way, Derek Burks, NO conservative or moderate is going to complain about a story being written from a conservative viewpoint, even though I think the authors are closer to being moderate.
I'm really looking forward to book three.

The performances are great but there are no chapters that go along with the actual chapters and books of the bible. It's fine if you're listening to it from the beginning but if you want to look up scriptures, it's almost impossible.

Story
The only possible thing that could make Morgan's world even more difficult happened. The Japanese fleet off the coast of California was wiped out. An even that Morgan and friends and family only knew about because of the radio broadcasts from the Radio Free Redoubt. So far removed from them it barely warranted notice. That is until the Chinese retaliated by launching a nuclear counter-strike against Mac Dill Air Force base. This, did warrant their attention and had the potential to profoundly impact their lives.

Better than the previous one.
Reviewed: 04-12-18
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was entertaining but I really question the review on the cover. It isn't much of an "End of the World Scenario. Plus, Morgan continues to be an expert about everything, which is getting very old.
What do you think your next listen will be?
It's getting harder to find realistic books in the genre, so I'm not sure.
What about Duke Fontaine’s performance did you like?
He did better than the previous book, but you can still hear him gasping for air.
Was Conflicted Home worth the listening time?
Only because it's been raining. If I had something else to do, NO!
Any additional comments?
The first three books of the series were great, but they have been steadily going down since. The previous book, "Enforcing Home," I believe was the worst. This is an improvement but I'm really losing my desire for the series. To be honest, I thought I would give it one more try to fall back in love with it again.

Story
Sebastian Radu is an unusual kid...perhaps the most unusual young man presently living in America. That's because he's a 125-year-old warlock who looks all of 18. Born to a Romanian family of witches, whose lifetimes often extend beyond 600 years, the Radus have long been at war with another family of similar dark gifts, the Mateis. When the Mateis step up their efforts to wipe the Radus from the face of the earth, Sebastian and his family flee Chicago and head south to the quaint and quirky town of Denmark, Tennessee.

What did you love best about Witches of Denmark?
I love any story that the narrator brings to life. The narrator did just that.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Several but the grandmother. I liked her attitude about life and problems.
Have you listened to any of Diane Davis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this is the first time I have heard her but she did an outstanding job.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I have no suggestions on this.
Any additional comments?
This is not a book that I would normally listen to, but my wife talked me into it. I was surprised how I got into it after a while. The narrator made it very believable.

Story
In Avenging Home, we see how the long-running battle between Morgan's people and their number one nemesis plays out. While Morgan thinks this is the biggest threat they face, there are things on the horizon he cannot yet see that are going to dwarf these problems. Morgan has lived in a vacuum. He's had little information about the outside world. While he's used radios to listen to what he can, there's been precious little real information.

Story
Desperate times continue to grind on with no sign of Martial Law ending soon or any hope that the economic crisis has subsided. Jimmy and his group learn of another camp of refugees that live not ten miles away from them. The group has adopted a 1960's era commune theme, complete with hippie slang and a flower child mentality. The commune was created out of one of the grand old lodges of northern Minnesota and is called Utopia, and they have one rule: No guns allowed.

Don't get started on this series
Reviewed: 07-14-15
Would you try another book from Nicholas Antinozzi and/or Joe Cirillo?
I will finish the series just to see how stupid it can get, but I won't read any of his other books. Joe Cirillo is fine.
What was most disappointing about Nicholas Antinozzi’s story?
How stupid the main character, Jimmy, is. His thoughts and actions are almost sickening. He is controlled by everyone, henpecked and has no common sense.
Have you listened to any of Joe Cirillo’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
He is ok. It is hard to judge him on such a weak story.
What character would you cut from Desperate Times 2 Gun Control?
I would change characters, not cut them. It just amazes me how stupid the character, Jimmy, is in the story.
Any additional comments?
This book is a lot worse than the first, and the first wasn't good. I wasn't going to read this book, but was bored and couldn't find anything else in this subject matter that I haven't read. Don't waste you money or credits.

Despite all the warning bells, Black Friday arrives as a devastating tidal wave that completely destroys our fragile economy in a single day. There is panic in the streets as banks close their doors, seemingly forever, at noon. Store shelves are swept bare and the gas pumps soon run dry. Jimmy Logan watches in disbelief as his world crumbles before his eyes. Luckily, he has friends who have planned ahead for this nightmarish scenario and he joins up with a group who plan to ride the storm out in northern Minnesota. Some of their group will be dead before the sun sets.

If the writer would of at least done some research on the weapons he was talking about. Obviously the writer is very liberal and when he tries to act conservative, he fails completely.
What could Nicholas Antinozzi have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I repeat what I said above; If the writer would of at least done some research on the weapons he was talking about. Obviously the writer is very liberal and when he tries to act conservative, he fails completely.
What about Joe Cirillo’s performance did you like?
He is not bad. He is a lot better than some I have heard.
What character would you cut from Desperate Times?
I would of changed Jimmy being such an idiot. If he makes a decision, you can bet it will be wrong. Also, he is obviously henpecked by any woman he is with.
Any additional comments?
This was one of the weakest I have read.
