Story
Only minutes after Abbie Elliot and her three best friends step off of a private helicopter, they enter the most luxurious, sumptuous, sensually pampering hotel they have ever been to. Their lavish presidential suite overlooks Monte Carlo, and they surrender: to the sun and pool, to the sashimi and sake, to the Bruno Paillard champagne. In the morning's harsh light, Abbie awakens on a yacht, surrounded by police. Something awful has happened - something impossible, unthinkable. Abbie, Winnie, Serena, and Bryah are arrested and accused of the foulest crime imaginable.

Story
After working one of the worst mass killings in U.S. history, Scarpetta returns home to Cambridge, Massachusetts. Exhausted and ill, she's recovering at home when she receives an unsettling call. The body of a young woman has been discovered on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's rugby field. The victim, a graduate student named Gail Shipman, is oddly draped in ivory linen and posed in a way that is too deliberate to be the killer's first strike.

Not Her Best
Reviewed: 03-05-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I felt like there was a lot of stale time in the book, There was too little time spent in the lab where we all know Scarpetta is at her best.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I'm not very fond of Patricia Cornwell's new stuff. Scarpetta does't have the same drive and spunk and the stories aren't as detailed. I'm moving on for now.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The male voices are a bit forced, but not cad otherwise.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No

Would you try another book from Nora Roberts and/or Luke Daniels?
I would. He did a surprisingly good job of the men and women's voices and making sure you always knew who was talking.
Would you be willing to try another book from Nora Roberts? Why or why not?
I love Nora Roberts but this book could not compare to the Witness or Montana Sky which I consider her bests.
What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He captures the unique voices and feelings if each character.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No. There really isn't that much action. This is just an easy listen if you're looking to pass the time.
Any additional comments?
I hope Nora Roberts gets back to her greats like northern lights. This book didn't feel very well thought out to me. I enjoyed it but would not listen to it again like I've done with many of her books.
