Story
For Mark Caldwell, an unsatisfying life was about to take a turn both terrifying and exhilarating as his fate took an unimaginable turn. When Mark took his aisle seat aboard United flight 4382, he was ignorant of three facts. The fellow passenger in the window seat was named Joseph Colsco. Neither of them would ever set foot on Earth again. They both would be cast naked on an alien planet.

What a disappointment

Except for the change to the name of the main character and industries introduced, we have an exact copy of the first four .books. I wasted one credit on the book, not going to happen again.

The conclusion is not believable
Reviewed: 10-07-19
A great series of books but the ending is not believable. I loved the story and without giving any spoilers, found the storyline consistent till the final chapter where one of the main characters does something that does not hold water with the rest of their character in the previous three books. For that reason, I'm giving the story only a 4-star rating.

Story
The alien race known as the Ancients vanished before Earth's last ice age - but not before building interconnected rings that form a highway system across the galaxy. Humanity has used these rings for years but has never figured out how to build its own, or even how to alter the connection pattern. Now, the Imperial starship Pandora is on a mission to discover and explore new interstellar connection points. While on Venus, an unexpected guest arrives - Marvin, a rogue robot who puts his strange mind to work on reconnecting the rings into a new pattern. Everything goes haywire.

When a story gets written in a way that one just longs to get through it , you know that something was done wrong. The story starts of somewhat believable but the sheer number of 'bad luck' the main characters have to deal with, and non stop battles leaves you wanting a break at some stage . Thiis title is packed with action - and not the good type - it gets to be annoying at around half way throughg the book. I think I will give the rest of the series a skip .

It is difficult to say more than the best was left till last. The best monent or event happens in the final 5 minutest of the recording when the story winds down ...

What did you love best about Stark's Command?
This is a great improvement on the first book in the series. The story is better rounded and less corrosive that the first. A good listen ...
What was one of the most memorable moments of Stark's Command?
Spoiler alert. Stark is more human like and less of a demi-god in this book - this is seen in the way he handles the death of friends and civilians ...

Where does The Lost Destroyer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
A good listen, not as action packed and believable as book 2 in the series though ...
What did you like best about this story?
Vaughn Heppner writes non repetitive and interesting sci-fi. The story flows nicely but lacks some believability in parts - not going to to spoil it by giving particulars ....
Any additional comments?
A good third book in the series - lets see what book four holds ....

Would you listen to The Lost Command again? Why?
Why have I not read / listen to this series before ? It is excellent - Vaughn Heppner tells a great story with believable characters and a good flowing story line - there is nothing boring about this book ....
What does Mark Boyett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I tend to speed read books - i.e. sometimes just glance ever the less interesting parts. The result of this is that I sometimes miss finer details of the story. Listening to it gets rid of this lazy habit and forces me to follow the story line in more detail.
Any additional comments?
Cannot believe it, but I have completed listening to two of the four books in just one week .. now on to book 3. Cannot wait to hear what happens next
