Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

I listen to a lot of books, about 3 to 6 a week. It is not often these days that I come across a book that sweeps my heart away. This book did just that. It made me cry with sadness and joy. It made me pound my fist in anger and hold my chest with emotions. This is a book that is definitely worth the read/listen. I devoured it.

If you choked down the first book, do yourself a favor and just stop there. This one is so much worse than the first book. I got so frustrated by the idiocy and pilitical bullcrap that I had to just stop midway into the book. The author really let me down. Dont waste your time or your credit!

Story
When an experiment to study quantum uncertainty goes spectacularly wrong, physics student Bill Rustad and his friends find that they have accidentally created an inter-dimensional portal. They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.

Really, it started out well, but as the story progressed, it got weak and inconsistant. Unfortunately, the decisions of the characters and outright predictability ruined this. It could have been amazing. The author really wrote a ket down.

Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends. Which is how they find themselves sharing a bedroom at the Maine cottage that has been their friend group’s yearly getaway for the last decade.

This book is very boring with so many meaningless descriptive words and no real depth to the story. Think awkward twilight with less character personalities. Save your time and your credit. If I could give this book less than a star review I would give it.

nothing really all that special. I've listened to hundreds of book on here. this one is fast paced but it is action sex action sex... if you are into that then it is good but if you like meaning from what you listen to then this book sucks. plus I hate the reader, he is boring and doesn't have different voices nor is he consistent with accents. I won't be continuing this series!

Story
This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal, and long dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the Earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

I listen to a lot of fantasy books on here and am always on the look out for new ones. I often read the reviews before I pick a book. this book had mixed reviews either people hated it or they loved it. I think this is a really decent book, a lot of the ideas are new, and today that is hard to find. I really enjoy the character development, and their relationships. I hate phoney character relations and I find in a lot of fantasy they write their main love plot like they are writing princess bride or something. This book didn't do that they had more real world complicated relationships. as a whole this novel is worth the time, but if you are sensitive to foul language or realistic slightly broken characters you should read Twilight or something...
