A MUST READ (& re-read, re-read)
Reviewed: 05-27-23
I read 100+ books a year (most related to personal development) and consider Getting Things done in the top 5 books I have ever read and will ever read. I have read it (or listened to it) 4 times over the past 5 years. Each time I glean new insight on perfect the system for me. I do not follow the GTD system to a T, but find the longer I use it, the more of it I use (or use adaptions of it.
If your asking yourself “is this worth my Audible credit for the month?” The answer is a resound YES! I also recommend buying a physical copy you can read first, then listen to it and your your hard copy to reference.
If you are still not convinced, watch a YouTube video highlighting the key points of GTD Then buy the book to learn the full system.

As an introvert who is not yet a mom, this book gave me hope. It gave me hope that it is possible for me to be a good mom someday as an introvert, in spite of my fears of how I will manage the chaos of kids (I can't always manage being single as an introvert!)

This is an excellent book! After listening to it, I was able to start a healthy eating plan, eating foods that are good for and that I like, based on the author's recommendations. I found it was helpful for me to create a weekly checklist with the recommended foods that I like, and note how many times a week I should eat them. This has been incredibly helpful in meal planning to ensure I eat enough serving of the right food each day. I have been focusing on the foods TO eat instead of the foods NOT TO eat. By the time I eat all the healthy food for my brain, I am not hungry enough to consume junk food! I've been following the recommendations in the book for three weeks with ease (since I'm eating foods I like) and I have found my mood to be stable with little to no anxiety. I have finally discovered a healthy eating plan I can stick to with ease! Side note, I have also lost 5 lbs! :)

Story
In the 1990s, a “purity industry” emerged out of the white evangelical Christian culture. Purity rings, purity pledges, and purity balls came with a dangerous message: girls are potential sexual “stumbling blocks” for boys and men, and any expression of a girl’s sexuality could reflect the corruption of her character. This message traumatized many girls - resulting in anxiety, fear, and experiences that mimicked the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder - and trapped them in a cycle of shame.
