unrealistic to the point of foolish. The main character a 16-year-old boy has a doll (yes,a little girlrs doll) and the doll calls him Childish.) I think the entire story is childish. I will pass it on to my 12 year to see if they can finish it. I could not.

No surprises, no twist and turns to the story. it is simple and strait forward, You know what is going to happened far before the characters figure it out. Authors seem to struggle on the differences between a naïve young man and a simpleton. It is not a bad story it just becomes dull when you know what's coming next and you have to wait for the characters to figure it out.

The story is full of possibilities and you can't wait to find out what happens next. It has interesting characters, fascinating worlds and a tough hard hitting enemy to over come. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

I have listened to and read many books over the years (well over 1000) and this series is one of the most interesting and fun of the group. Stephen W. Bennett does an awesome job of fueling the imagination, he keeps the story upbeat and exciting. My only issue with the series is that book 4, 5, & 6 are not out yet.

Michael Kramer could even make the New York times sound interesting and intellectual. Sometimes its hard to tell if the books he narrates is great or if it just sounds great.

The book was fast passed, the characters interesting and the antagonists believable. Far too many authors get their antagonists from Scooby Doo cartoons, I keep waiting for them to say "I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids and their dog"

I have always believed you can tell how great the protagonist is by how strong the antagonist is. Often the antagonist is a simple minded, sexist, hateful, raciest moron who keeps out thinking the protagonist. This of course makes the protagonist a bumbling buffoon.

The author could have added a bit more humor and joy to the story, if it is always dark and sad than that becomes the norm. It takes away from the ups and downs of the story.

Overall I enjoyed the story and I look forward to further books from this author.

High Schoolish, 85% to 90% of the story was great, I enjoyed it and was enthralled, and then out of the blue it would turn in to a silly high schoollish event. Rolling around in the mud, throwing temper tantrum. At one minute they are highly trained professionals, handpicked for the mission then they are on. The next minute they are silly children acting out.

Overall the story was interesting and i enjoyed, but it could have been so much more.

They say it is an Urban Fantasy series but it has all the hallmarks of a paranormal romance series.
As I have heard the paranormal romance series described in the past “Paranormal Romance novels are pornos: They have meaningless hot sex and really bad dialog.”
Logic, commonsense and intellect is not important in these stories, the authors can force any shaped peg to fit their round hole.

To make it worse, the performer sounds like a 10 year old girl who thinks she is the best reader in her class and is trying to prove it be reading slowly and over annunciating every syllable.

I enjoyed her earlier books; however the last 3 she put out seem to be written for a much younger audience. The story is silly and the characters are supposed to be adults, yet they act, think and behave like young teens at times. They make ridiculous decisions then spend a good deal of the story justifying the decisions or overcome the consequence of those decisions.
I don’t remember her other books doing this. But again maybe my taste in books has changed.

Disappointing
The story did not flow very well, it was like each chapter was written by a different person who only loosely followed what happened in the previous chapters
